Consultant of the Month: Jon, a Hard-Working Techie and Home-Brewer

JP1Before Jon was working at his current job as a Support Specialist at a hotel and gaming company, he was logging in 60 to 100 hours a week at his old company. Through an IT Professionals group meeting, his fiancée Leslie—who is on the board—introduced him to Crescent Solutions’ Kelley Bengel.

“I was pretty stoked when Kelley got me this position right away and [earning] almost as much money as I was making with all of that overtime,” said Jon.

Jon and Leslie are getting married next April, and his fiancée wanted him to stop working at a job that required such long hours and not be “grumpy and tired all the time.” Jon  isn’t the only one happy with his new job; Tim, the hiring manager at his company, is also impressed with his work. “Jon is awesome,” said Tim. “In my entire time in the IT field, I’ve never seen someone who was so eager to learn and did so as quickly as he did.”

The Las Vegas-based techie originally is from San Diego. However, he has a soft spot for Vegas because he loves trying out hole-in-the-wall Thai and Indian restaurants there that are open late night, and dabbles in Vietnamese cuisine as well. With his new schedule, he now has more time to spend on his hobbies, which include outdoors activities such as hiking and fishing, woodworking, and even home-brewing beer and cider.

“Working with Jon is a pleasure,” said Kelley. “He’s always smiling, enthusiastic, and self-assured. You can tell when you first meet him that he carries a strong sense of professionalism with him at all times. Plus, he makes his own beer. You really can’t beat a combination like that.”
